FAQ

Do you travel?

Yes I do! I travel often, as that is another one of my many passions. I'm willing to travel for photoshoots outside of the NYC/LI area. I have a flat travel fee of $200 for any photoshoot outside of the NYC/LI area. If you want me to travel to you for a wedding, event, etc. DM me for a quote for the travel fee.

Where are you located and what locations do you use for photoshoots?

I am based in the NYC and Long Island area. There are several locations where we can go to for photo sessions. After booking and having our Intro Call via Zoom, I provide a guide for potential locations within the NYC and Long Island area that we can go to for our photo sessions.

What type of photos do you take?

I primarily take portraits, including solo, senior, graduation, couple, and family photos. A part of my work includes Filipino cultural heritage photos, representing the cultural aspects of the Philippines, with specialization in pre-colonial fashion.

I also do engagement sessions and weddings.

How do I book and work with you?

You can simply send an email at thepinayphotographerr@gmail.com , DM me on Instagram or Facebook @thepinayphotographer, or book a session directly on my site.

What kind of camera gear do you use?

I use twos camera, however my primary camera is a Sony Alpha 9ii. I also use a Canon EOS 70D, with three different range of lens depending on the photo session.

What is your turn around time?

Depends on the type of session. Solo portraits and headshots take around 2-4 weeks. For sessions longer than an hour, they typically take 4-12 weeks. For larger events such as debuts, weddings, family gatherings, it will be 1-3 months depending on the type of session and amount of photos being delivered.

How long have you been a photographer?

I've been taking photos of family, friends, family events, and travel photos since I was in high school. My first DSLR camera was a Canon Rebel XTi back in h.s. which was a gift from my dad as I loved photography. Professionally however, I've only been a photographer since early 2024. I'm looking forward to working people from all walks of life, as we create these photos to document your culture and cherised moments in life.

For cultural heritage photo sessions, do you provide outfits? Can I wear my own?

Yes! If you are Filipino, I have several traditional clothing and accessories for Filipino cultural photo sessions. If you have your own, you are more than welcome to wear them to the session!

For other cultural groups, you must either provide your own clothing or we can discuss rentals and where to get pieces of your traditional textiles.

Do you retouch your photos?

Yes, to some degree! I typically use my own presets and color grading for each photo in my creative style, which is what I would describe as a realistic painting.

I also touch up on any blemishes and scars in my final photos (unless otherwise stated by my client not to do so). However, I don't change face or body structures, as I am a firm believer of body positivity. I also want to highlight you, as the individual, in these photos that I deliver.

For fashion photo sessions, what do we wear?

You can wear your own or we can rent out clothing, it's up to you! Depending on your vision, we will work together to deliver photos that you can either add to your own modeling portfolio, socials, or for personal use.

I also provide style guides to my clients after booking, where we discuss location and what you want to wear.
